2026 10 STM Trip Prayer Update

10/10/2026

The October 2026 short-term mission trip of K-PACT Canada is fast approaching. We would be most grateful for your prayerful support and remembrance before the Lord.

The seven members of the mission team is departing at different times. Owing to the severe drought and widespread forest fires that have affected West Kalimantan, Indonesia, over the past three months, environmental conditions have deteriorated significantly due to persistent air pollution. Considering these circumstances, the team has cancelled the originally planned one-week ministry itinerary in West Kalimantan. Instead, the entire mission trip will now be conducted in the East Java region in partnership with the local Hope Ministry Malang team.

Judith is already in Malang now, arriving in Malang one week ahead of the rest of the team, intended to visit the House of Peace children's home in Malang and devote herself to ministering to and encouraging the more than thirty teenagers residing there.

Alexander also departed earlier from Montreal. Regrettably, he experienced some health concerns during his journey. As a precautionary measure, he has decided to shorten his stay and will be joining the STM team in East Java for only four days before returning to Canada ahead of schedule. Please uphold Alexander in prayer, asking the Lord to grant him strength, good health, and safe travel.

Pastor Sam, Pastor Anthony, Edwin, and Heidi will depart from Vancouver late night tomorrow. They will transit flight via Hong Kong to Surabaya, Indonesia. Including transit time, the journey will exceed thirty hours. Upon arrival at Surabaya International Airport, they will be joined by the other three members of the Mission team. Colleagues from Hope Ministry Malang will then transport the team by vehicle to the mountain village of the Tengger ethnic minority region, where they will be accommodated in a local guest house.

We sincerely covet your prayers on behalf of the team throughout this mission trip. We also invite you to follow the team's progress through the Indonesia Short-Term Mission Journal, which will be updated periodically on the K-PACT Canada website:
